I synch my VDX at both work and home. Every time I move from one desktop to the other Avanto 4.0 goes through the update process but doesn't display information on my Visor (I get the Welcome to Avantgo screen). I then have to go to the AvantGo pulldown menu, select Choose Server from the and re-check AvantGo.com, punch the "Go to Selected Server" and resynch to get the updated pages to show up.

Any ideas on how to get around this? Its a real issue.

I haven't had this problem with 4.0, but I did have it in the past. Hopefully it is the same problem. To wit, each machine you installed AvantGo on has added a server.

I've seen two flavors of this problem. The one you have, where only one of the two servers is getting updated. And a flavor where both are being fully updated all the time (very long hotsync times!)

The goal is to get rid of one of the server entries. In your case, the one that doesn't work. In the other flavor, getting rid of either is OK.

Run AvantGo Connect (used to be Mobile Link) [You can run it directly or from the Options -> Server Preferences menu]
Tap the Server drop down box and verify that you have TWO (or more) AvantGo.com server settings.

On all but one copy of AvantGo.com, uncheck the "Update During Next Sync" box.

Verify that you get updated content in both locations.

Delete the one with the unchecked box.

NoGo AvantGo

Thanks for the suggestion...but....I tried that, and it disables the server, which prevents synching to Avantgo on that desktop entirely (by disabling the server profile).

On previous versions of Avantgo I've had to go in and remove multiple additions of servers (adding one each time I moved back and forth between workstations)...what am I doing wrong??? I can't be the only one synching AvantGo on more than one machine!
