Nice to see someone else in cyberland still comes by. What is interesting to me is the amount of looks some of the post I made the other day have received yet no one other then you has replyed. This use to be a site I would visit everyday, although I didn't participate much because there were so many knowlegable posters here at that time.

So Miradu, what PDA do you use now? Or do you still use one. Back then, when the site was active, I used a Palm Vx or Palm m505. Today I have about 5 differant models and use four quite regularly. They would be from least to most Handspring Visor Platinum, PalmM500, Sony Clie SJ-22, and Palm Tungsten T.

lets bring it back to life

i brought out the visor prism from my closet.
and it still works.
i remember playing serious sam on it.
anybody know of any hacks for it?
i bought mine for about $100.00 2 years ago.
now i think you can get one on ebay for about $40.00.

You should also try the DA Launcher and some of the da's that are out there as well as the hacks. Here is a site that shows many freeware palm apps with screenshots. omg nostalgia.

i just threw out the last of my old visor junk. mostly broken, with one working one(needed a sharp tap once in a while though). all told, like 1200 dollars worth of stuff new.

i dont believe i was only 19 when i registered here.

I just recently discovered the visor deluxe and have been looking for modules and software for it. it seems to have alot of promise because there is still hware and sware available, and so are developer tools. also, it looks like the new OS 4.0 and 5.0 are backward compatable with the sware that i have on the device, so its an adaptable and powerfull platform that will migrate, along with all my work, onto a treo someday.
although i still don't know that for sure.

any suggestions on where to get more modules or sware?

hi! modules(except storage) are now rare.
when you do find them they're expensive.
20 and up.
today i saw good prices on visor prisms, complete box sets and all on ebay.
let us know what you find.

hmmm.... so far so good. i got really lucky and scored "Palm Pilot: the ultimate guide" by david pogue.
i'm still having trouble though loading text into the device. that's the primary reason for having it, so i can read stuff like ebooks with it.
the device came loaded with Aportis and Memo Pad and Mobile DB and stuff, but i don't have the desktop equivalents of these programs.
i DL'd Palm Desktop, but the memo pad entries won't transfer from Palm Desktop to the visor.

hmmmmm.....

anybody know what Codewarrior is?

There is a free palm doc convertor for both windows and mac here http://lokisw.com/index.php?lang=en...almDocConverter down the page are links to free doc readers. If you want to spend some money you might look at Quickoffice or Documents To Go. As for the memos not transfering, you may want to check your conduit settings from within Palm Desktop to make sure they are set up to transfer your memos.

Keep us informed on how it's working out for you. There are usually differant ways to get the result you want.

that was the best link that i've clicked on in quite a while. (thanx a bunch ;-)not only did i find a whole ****load of free software and ematerial, there were also links and info for developing my own reader/conversion programs. forget memopad & aportis.

in fact, thanks to the links i've found here i am now in info overload, i've learned how to install and remove apps and docs onto my visor, but it will take several hours just to sort through all this stuff and figure out which are the best apps to install and use.

now that i have confirmation of just how powerfull and extendable this little thing really is, i can start loading and modding it into the device that will really do what i want. and it's CHEAP, too... :-))

two more questions please:

-what kind of sound capability does the V Deluxe have (and what sware is there that will demonstrate those sounds)?

-who knows of a pouch or holster with which to tote the device for someone who just wears t-shirts? (like the kind that holds my cell phone with a belt clip or something like that)?

well i got real lucky again and scored the perfect belt pouch. it holds the visor horizontally,which means that i can sit down and stand up and it won't push out of place. wore it all day.... perfect, except i had to slice off one of the belt loops from my jeans so that it would slide easily back and forth. there's already a missing one where the phone is.

is very good too but it's vertical, which means it would pinch when i sit down.
