Back with a request

Hello again.

When last seen I was in the middle of a vigerous debate with some, but had to leave because of personal challenges. It seems that cancerous cells have found a way into a lump in my wife's breast. We just got the confirmed diagnosis yesterday. It took us three doctors to confirm that something indeed was wrong with Elizabeth (women take note, not all doctors were created equal).

Please take the time to pray for my wife's full recovery, and pray for us to have the werewithal to handle this time of stress with dignity and strength.

Thank you

Michael

BobbyMike, Best of luck to you and your wife...

Ironic isnt it that they make the diagnosis just after international breast cancer day...

This must be one of the worst deseases a woman can get

I hope she recovers soon...

Yes, it's a pretty scary disease (decease means "to die" ), but I'm a firm believer in prayer, and she is young and healthy.
Thanks for your kind words/thoughts....

Michael

Michael,

Mother and aunt in my family, both malignant. Both caught early, and treated with great success. My (and my family) thoughts and prayers go out to you and your wife.

Be strong for your wife. She needs you now.

Regards,
Tommy

You can imagine that I am not really good at praying, but I hope you accept my best wishes anyway. I have no doubt that the combined forces of science and religion will work out in this case! I am sure you are doing a great job as a husband and father, also in this situation.

All the best for you and your family, and a quick recovery for your wife!

I'll accept best wishes in place of prayer.
Thanks,

Early diagnosis is the key to these things... the fact you found it is a good thing! They have made very significant advances with all forms of cancer treatment over the past 15 years alone! I had a few family members and friends , both very young and old, get various forms of cancer (and two of them very serious - i.e. brain tumors), and they have all recovered.. I think we will see eventually see cancer treated in our lifetimes just like any other chronic illness is today..

Have faith..

I think she will ultimately be ok.. My best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Hey BM. Best of luck to you and your wife for a speedy recovery.

I haven't lost anyone to cancer -- just smoking, and not cancer-caused-by-smoking either, smoking does other nasty things too -- but I know what it's like to lose someone.

by the by, the cartoon museum we've talked about in the past, closed permanently at the end of this season. And I didn't get to go up there this year at all (car bad). So I hope you had a chance to go visit.

and, that kid looks shocked.

FYI
My wife is going into surgery (lumpectomy/biopsy) this Thursday in Albany.
Please pray with us that God directs our (very competent) surgeon's hands and that there are no Paigets cells present.
Thanks and God Bless,
Michael

best of luck to your family! I'm glad you found (finally) a doctor you can trust and who is competent.

(...and thanks for the perspective, I was letting trolls ruin my day...)

Lumpectomy/biopsy went well, no complications. Unfortunately the biopsy came back and they want to do a masectomy.

Funny thing is that she (my wife) was still nursing my daughter on that side until recently. The operation caused it to "milk up", which in turn caused her breast to explode (her words- not really, but the milk flow burst her incision back open). They want it to heal before they operate again.

So her breast has to heal before they remove it. Kinda like hospitalizing the prisoner so that you can hang him.

She is pretty good spirits even though she's looking at a masectomy and chemo following that.

BTW she's 38 (non-smoker and otherwise healthy), so I recommend that you gals keep close watch on yourselves and you guys encourage your loved ones to do the same.

Keep supporting her, the time ahead will be pretty tough...
Keep reminding her she is still a beautifull woman even without her breast(s), a lot of women who undergo that operation feel like their womanhood it taken away, it is a time of grief..
Send her my best wishes and tell her I find her an amazingly strong woman..

Also for those in warm climates, keep checking your skin for cancers. Out here with the hole in the ozone layer it is recommended to have a checkup at least every year...
Better save than sorry..
