Exclamation

Over this past weekend I went out and bought a Visor Platinum. I have had my Deluxe for almost a year and I figured it'd be time to upgrade to something with a little bit more power. I love it, but the only thing that bugs me is that fact that the screen streaks big time in most of the applications that I use. I've tried the Handspring Updates, I've tried StreakHack, but still have had no avail in getting the streaks to subside even the least bit.. anyone have any idea that could help me? Thanks..

I would recommend trying to return it where you bought it from and see if they will exchange it (if it was a reputable retailer, they should with no problem.

If they don't call Handspring support and have your receipt and serial number available. They will probably replace it for you as well.

Bottom Line: The screen should not be streaking.

Arrow

It seems that it streaks the most in AvantGo and Solitaire pack 2, a little bit, but not much more in everything else. You think it's a defective unit?

I had a Deluxe for over a year and upgraded to a Plat about four months ago and I have never had a streaking problem. I also run AvantGo and it is just as clear as anything else. I have a feeling it's probably a bad screen.

Anyone else seen this problem/have suggestions?

All 5 platinums I've seen/owned had streaky screens. Some are worse than others, it sounds like yours is pretty bad. It never hurts to try and get a new one, Handspring seams happy to send them out. Just don't get too excited about the results.

Afterburner 3.0t has some "No Streak" feratures that you can play with. You can make the streaks mostly go away, but then you will get flickering.

Thumbs up No streaking for me!

I have had my Platinum since the beginning of December - I bought one right after they came out.

I have had no problems with streaking whatsoever. I have tons of third party applications loaded as well.

I had major problems on my Visor Dlx with streaking when I used Afterburner, even though it had so-called anti-streaking tools built in.

That is the only time I have had any streaking problems with handspring products.
