MiniJam Vs SoundsGood

what do u guys think.
anyways, was just wondering, these modules are kinda expensive, sometimes even close to the price of a standalone mmp3 player, so whats the idea? Can't decide on a mobile digital music player.

Well, I hate to say it, but I would go with the MiniJam. The Soundsgood is very cool (I have it), esp. in terms of size. Unfortunately, the headphone jack on mine has gotten all wack, and since the company no longer does springboards, there's no support for it.

the Minijam may be bigger, but there's at least a modicum of support for it, and it uses MMC, which is nice.

...to be honest, I would recomment getting a standalone mp3 player as opposed to those 2 options.

i have a soundsgood, and the hedphone jack, despite bing well taken care of is more than a bit loose.. (i bought mine used, so i dont know how old it is, but the buyer told me he was especially carefull with the jack)

and those wankers at Good technologies GLUED the stupid module together so it's neigh impossible to fix what is probably just a loose contact.

however, the size is a big issue for me. I had an em2 for quite some time, and really, adding anything you the visor form just makes it BIG. also filling up the SG with tunes takes 4 minutes. Unless you use an external mmc card reader and brand name mmc cards, it takes about 4 times longer to fill up a 64mb minijam.

I would still probably pick the SG over the MJ though

though If i were you, id pick up a samsung mini yepp or some other stand alone player. its newer cheaper technology.

i took a crack at mine, and i couldnt get it open. maybe if i spent some more time.. it isnt broken yet, just loose. oh well. its good that i have something to look forward to.

I have used both, and I would say they both sound great, and both have similar and well-designed interfaces.

MiniJam:
Pros-
- Doc and photo reader
- Flash memory (2 mgs) for whatever you want to store
- Uses removeable MMC cards so you can expand or build up a library.

Cons-
- Really, really big

SoundsGood:
Pros-
- Slimline case
- Energy Clip module feature

Cons-
- Getting out of the Visor MP3 business
- Limited memory
- Jack problems (can be minimized with a right-angle plug on your headphones)

I really like my MiniJam, but the bulkiness of it kinda bugs me.
