I tend to agree with this, though I do believe Handspring's claim that they were not aiming for a Christmas '99 sales push and so didn't see this Holiday season as a target.

Why? They are the only distributor of the Visor, and this narrows the possibility of coming into contact with a large body of consumers quickly. And without an outlet through other online stores, but mainly on the floor in retail chains, they would hardly have reached a good saturation of the market.
