It occurred to me that when/if I get a GPS module, it would be cool to mount my visor on the handlebars of my mountain bike. After searching the web for suitable cases and straps, I stumbled on this:

Maybe we could convince them to integrate their application with the GPS module (assuming this would be possible...it might require some cooperation from Navicom/Marcosoft), or at least make a visor w/ GPS module-sized case!

What do you all think?

Great mount idea + bike computer function! Now if only they can make a HRM module to link to Visor! -My current method of carrying GPS in Camelbak only saves route info, but obviously you have to stop to check position.

As a cyclist and a Visor afficionado, this looks pretty cool.

But only for mountain bikers who never, ever, ever crash!!

I think it would be very risky to mount a Palm/Visor on a mountain bike, unless you don't actually plan on doing any real mountain bike trails.

I've destroyed several bells, seats, inner tubes, wheels, suspension, spokes, and even a helmet on my mountain bike. My friends have also destroyed derailleurs, wheels, dropouts, tires, etc. Now, this is on intermediate to advanced trails, but nobody's perfect even on beginner trails.

If the vibrations don't destroy the PDA (even if you have a good shock), then the force of the impact of a crash will (even if you have protective bar ends). And I won't even talk about rain...

I have a computer installed, but that's just to measure speed, time, and distance, and they only cost $20. I think if I am ever brave enough to carry my Visor with me, it's going into my camelbak.

I believe mine will go into an Otterbox first, then my Camelbak, but I am giving serious thought to getting the GPS, and taking it on mountain bike rides.

Not that any of my rides truly warrant a GPS, but hey, what are toys for!

I think this would be a very nifty gadget for the visor. I don't believe that this is for a mountain bike. It seems from the site that it is for road bikes. A major hint of this is that it gives directions, i e, the left right arrows ect. I dont think that anybody needs these kinds of directions in the woods. I beleive the site said that it has a mount case. It doesnt just mount to the handbars but sits in a protective case that mounts to the handlebars.
