Got my new visor, and want to avoid the scratched screen problems mentioned.
WriteRights seem the way to go, but they're pretty pricey. How long does one last? A sheet a month?
About the cheaper alternatives, are they worth the trouble? Transparencies are pretty much out due to easy scratching.

Based on ideas picked up in these and other discussions, I bought a roll of Scotch "Removable Tape" at Staples for less than a buck. It uses the same adhesive as Post-It notes. Very easy to position/reposition. Placed it only over the bottom graffiti area -- provides a very smooth writing surface. Also used some "fine" steel wool to polish the visor stylus tip before touching the screen. OK so far.

I got Writerights and I love 'em, even though now I got a few small air-bubbles underneath. You can't go wrong with WRs andd the 5-pack.
I dont know about putting scotch tape on the screen, u may not be able to get it off without scratching the screen badly

You guys got it all wrong!!! Go to the discussion on DIY screen protectors. I am using the Palm III template printed on a laser printer w/transparency paper. Slips under the plastic cover and one protector will last me an average of 2 months! Nice thing about this method is that the protector is a little stronger than WriteRights as far as protection goes. Best of all, they are FREE!!!

I use Keep-a-Memory self-adhesive laminate sheets ($3 for a life time supply at Walmart). See my posting else where on this board (Topic:__ Cheap Alternatives to Screen Clean/WriteRights??? ) for tricks on how I apply it.
