Here we go Visor Users....

Look, im here to get EVERY Visor, young or old, tall or short, new user or old user, together to let Handspring know what us users are thinking and feeling.

Please post your comments towards WHAT WE WANT in a new handheld from our beloved Handspring. Hopefully, coming together on this one thread, will persuade Handspring to finally innovate in the Visor handheld product line.


Look Handspring, Treo looks great...even has me drooling, but what about another color Visor machine? Something slim, thats not innovation, something sleek, that isnt either, something with hi-res BEAUTIFUL screen, thats not innovation either, what about 16-32mb of ram, yeah you have the Pro with 16...but what if we would like more, how about soft grafitti, thats not new, what about mp3 playing, thats not new, what about multimedia capabilities, NOW THATS NEW! FAST PROCESSOR, GREAT SCREEN, MOVIE PLAYING = A HANDHELD WORTH SPENDING 400 BUCKS ON!
I now feel my Prism is getting old, even though i love it. Now that you guys tell us Treo is in and Visor is almost out, how am i saposed to feel? What about a Pocket PC machine? INNOVATION INNOVATION INNOVATION HANDSPRING! Thats whats going to empty my wallet.

My next PDA...

I guess my next PDA will be:

a refurbished Visor Prism for $199 and...

a RAM upgrade to 16 MB for $119

STILL cheaper than the Prism was when it came out...only $318!

High Res (collapsable graffiti is preferred)
Either built in or expandable to 802.11b

Thin (At least thinner than my prism)

If the color handera comes along I'll probably forsake my Handspring ways completely and go that route. I never thought I'd come to this but HS lacks innovation. I don't even think the Treo is innovative. All they did was hard wire a visorphone with updated firmware into a small visor with a few extra applications and a flip cover. The springboard was innovation. This is not.

Cash on hand 12/29/01: $105m ($87m at 6/30/01)

Note that . "We also strengthened our balance sheet with an additional $47 million in cash through a follow-on stock offering and an additional investment from QUALCOMM.� So almost half the cash was the stock sale and Qualcomm private placement

Net Loss Q4'01: $20m (cash loss would be lower).

At that rate, they have still several quarters of losses they can survive.

But Qualcomm would not put significant cash into a PDA company, they want the wireless play. Note, however, that total stockholder's equity is $152m, so Qualcomm's $10m is not that much. Still, QC may be one of the largest single shareholders (after Hawkins and Dubinsky)-- have to wait for the 10'Ks to find out for sure (or go to the SEC website and find HS's registrations at the time they placed that stock w/QC and others)

(btw, I'm a financial economist at an accounting firm, in case you haven't guessed)
