I didn't care for the chat room when it was tried before ...
1. usually only a few people were in it at a time .. so true dicsusions were few and far between..
2. for the VC addicts among us, this would mean you would have to hang out at VisorCentral 24/7 to keep up on everything thats happening ... you have to sleep ..
3. a significant amount of people would hop into the chat channel looking for help -- so basically the chat room would become a realtime help system, rehashing a lot of the same solutions over and over again (I tend to believe most people do a quick search before posting currently, however, they would prefer a live chat over searching (as it would be quicker and address their problem precisely)
4. Lots of the off topic stuff would probably just occur on the live chat, and I for one, like going through that particular forum to see what type of odd ball stuff shows up
in anycase, I don't really care for the idea --- however, I *DO* like scheduled live-chats when certain individuals (maybe like James or Marcus from PC expo or a rep from handspring, etc...) are featured and the chat room is available for that ...
just my 2 cents..
