VisorPhone... clearing up some issues.. PLEASE!!

hello... i'm new here. i recently stumbled onto this board and i find the discussion informative. i own a prism and just purchased the visorphone (voicestream). i have the get more plus plan and the additional SMS messages (500 for $2.99).

there are a lot of threads about the (non)/capabilities of this module. i've been fishing through them, but all of them leave me more confused because there is no consensus and not enough information provided by those who do get it to work correctly.

so far, i'm not disappointed using the VP. The AOL chat works great with the SMS messaging. i just wanted to get some things cleared up about the web accessing properties.
1) Is it only for PPP?
2) What ISPs do board members recommend?
3) Recommendations/Tips...

constructive advice preferred (i.e. solutions that work...)
