If so,

I am using a Cell Phone (Samsung 8500)/Supplynet cable solution. You can use Bell Mobility or Clearnet/FIDO. Any plan will do. However, you will need to enable data services on your Phone. Bell charge $15 cents per minute while Clearnet/Telus deduct the minute from your talk minutes. You can use any Visor to connect with the Visor Phone (Palm OS 3.1 or Palm OS 3.5).

I suspect that you can connect the same way with either a cable or IR Phone on the FIDO network. The connection is a bit slower at 9.6 kbps as oppose to the 14.4 kbps on the Bell/Telus CDMA Network.

Finally, I know a couple people usign the VisorPhone Springboard Module on the FIDO Network (which is GSM). I am seriously thinking of goign this route. The phone/Visor with cable combo is very cumbersome and unwieldy.

If there any possibility to push Hanspring to add any service plan for VisorPhone in Canada? It's too expencieve to buy VithorPhone without a plan and then sign for plan with the local prvider...

Or we will wait for SprintPCS module if it will work in Canada.

Will be here

The "Sprint PCS" module aka AirPrime module will be in Canada in the Fall I believe. It will be carried by Bell Mobility. I suspect the price will be about $500 CAD.

Wireless Access

I reside in Washington State and spend quite a bit of time in the Puget Sound vic Victoria. My OMNISKY taps into Canadian wireless provider signals and I'm able to download all of my email accounts and AVANTGO as well. I've even sufed the web (using both OMNISKY and BLAZER search engines) when I need information. Hope that helps.

You can pop a Fido / Microcell SIM chip into the VisorPhone and use it in the Toronto area. May require Fido to make an "over the air" transmission to your VisorPhone. You can dial-up many ISPs (Earthlink is best for Palm OS dial-ups). SMS is troublesome but not impossible.
