What are my options to get wireless web access on my Visor?

I have a Visor Deluxe. I have a regular non IR,motorola phone with Verizon service with no data capabilities. I am willing to buy a new WAP or IR cell phone, but most IR phones sold with cell services( sprint) have really poor area coverage in NJ/NY.

how about the nokia 8290? digital data and ir capabilities. a few people here have some details on using their 8290 and the ir link to connect to the internet. try doing a search for "8290".

I belong to Verizon too (they suck almost as bad as Innogear), and they use the CDMA technology.

Not GSM.

Here's a suggestion, check to see if VoiceStream is in your area. When they first enter an area, they go with crazy promotions. I talked one of the operators into buying me out of my Ameritech/Verizon plan. As soon as the service is available I will be getting 3000 minutes for 49 (or 59, I think). They have a nice selection of Ericsson and Nokia, and Mitsubishi and Motorola. The company has posted losses on the marketplace but I sincerely believe GSM is going to catch on and tranfer these CDMA and others over.
