Suggestions for wife's Visor

I just got my wife a Visor (the basic 2Mb kind) as an experiment. She is a mild technophobe and a Kindergarten teacher. She uses a paper planner and calendars a lot to organize her day, but has only recently shown any real interest in a PDA- and so far the interest is pretty small.

What ideas do YOU have of what I can load, and can you help with the following questions:

1.) Does anyone have an older copy of DidleBug that will run on the Visor's 3.1 OS? The newer version seems to take v.3.5.

2.) When I hot sync using her user name, it appears that the computer loads all of MY stuff on her device. Is there a way to prevent/minimize this so she can have a different calendar, phone list, etc.? I admit that I have not had a lot of time to research this yet, so it may just be my fault!

3.) Does anyone know of any good teacher/education software I can try out besides those available on Handmark's and Freeware's sites? I have no idea what she may want, but I want to be able to show her what is available.

At this point, I do not have a memory expander for her, but that is my next goal if she 'takes' to this idea.

(For what it is worth, what I have done so far is to set up the phone, calendar, etc., install a few games I think she will enjoy, install SplashPhoto and a couple family photos, install CSpotRun and some docs, and a few small applications like BigClock, etc.)

I have DiddleBug 2.15, which works fine with my OS 3.1h.

You can get it at: http://www.palmgear.com/software/sh...cfm?prodID=3457

You may want to point her to pdaED.com . It is a site that specializes in the use of PDA's in education.

It's a great site - I second the recommendation. Only problem is the boards are nowhere near as active as they are here.

Arrow Separate files

My wife also has a Handspring. We're now able to sync and keep separate files - primarily because we just "upgraded" to Windows XP. What type of computer and OS are you using?

BTW - I just thought of this. You might want to try the program "WeSync". It allows you to view your wifes datebook and yours together at the same time, and will update each on every sync...that way, you know what your wife is doing (or vice-versa) when you make a commitment to something.

You do NOT need Windows XP or to use any type of operating system profiles to sync separate Palm Devices (including Visors) to separate databases on the same machine.

As long as the UserID's on the devices are distinct, it will keep separate files.

Let me clarify - I had difficulty while using win98 and Me keeping our contacts, memos, and appointments from combining. We didn't have problems with syncing otherwise. I just disabled those conduits on my home computer.

The first time a handheld syncs with a computer, the Palm Desktop software creates a directory on the desktop based on the User Profile name. In my case at least, it used the first six letters of the last name and the first initial of the first name. For example, my User Profile is Dennis Lieberson and the directory it created on the desktop is LieberD.

I'm wondering - do you and your wife's first names begin with the same letter?

This seems kind of primitive, but could it be the cause of the mix-up?

Hot-sync issue: It happened at work, where I use intellisync to Yahoo!, Even after this time, I have not hot-synced it at home using just the Palm Desktop so there may be no problems there!

So... it may be a moot point. After the initial set-up, I don't need to sync it at work anymore.
