Lightbulb open letter to the Powers That Be of HandSpring

What the working public (i.e. me) wants is a device like the Kyocetera - a digital cellphone hybridized with something thin and hot like the Edge, with an SD/MMC or even CF/memorystick slot, an upgradable OS.
F*** your springboard slots; they're too dam big. F*** COLOR; color is for frivolous children. F*** MP3s or playing movies on PDAs; ditto as above.

WE NEED to CARRY IT IN OUR SHIRTPOCKETS WITHOUT SAGGING IT

Things I like about visors to date:
The emphasis on speed is good. Keep lowering your prices, you're almost there. Rechargable units are good, we need batteries with no memory.

Please give me something good to buy to replace the VDx. VPlat, VPrism, VEdge are all crap. HE330 is crap. Sony Clie is crap. Ipaq is crap. I'll pay $500 for what I asked for; I'll pay $0.00 for crap. Stop the crap!!!!!!

Dude, calm down.

I know HS isn't perfect, but as far as PDA's go right now, HS is the best. the perfect pda with all that you have asked for is still a ways off and by then new technologies will be out that we'll all be demanding. So a perfect pda cannot be reached.

More RAM

I agree that there's no perfect PDA yet, or ever, you just can't please everyone...though you can come close sometimes.

If anything Handspring should not have dropped the price on their high end PDAs, they should have just upped the memory to 16MB. That probably would have cost less than the $100 they're dropping their prices plus it's something Palm themselves don't offer.

Come-on Handspring! Give us an Edge+ or Platinum+ with 16MB of RAM!

THAT is a spendid idea!
It would have been worth the $100 I paid for the memplug/64mbsmc.

It would have been my 1st $100 choice, and allowed me to keep my SB open.

There are people that still see a PDA as a beeper or Cellphone, which you do not really need colors. I bought my Visor Prism having in my the number one reason that it has a 16 bit color display. Because, I like to carry pictures of my family everywhere I go. Also, my DateBook looks much better in color than in B/W. Another main reason is that since life is colorfull, I have to have color in my Visor. The only sad part is that it is too damn heavy and thick.

The Edge has many great features and the display is really great. However, Handspring has really made a mistake in the way the Edge looks. The Edge looks like a Tuna Fish Can . That's my main reason why I would never buy one, plus the way they use the Standard Springboard makes me feel like throwing out.

The Platinum is what the VDX should be now. Yes, Handspring sould be giving VDX users a chance to upgrade at a low cost to the Platinum. There is really little difference between them, except the OS and the CPU.

The future is a Handspring 16bit color version of the Color Clie + the Handera. Yes, mix them together and I will be the first one on your pre-orden list. Did I say 16MB of RAM?

Al

Well, OK, but some of us LIKE color. I like my green visor. I can't stand black. I don't need to put it in my shirt pocket--I toss it in my purse or backpack. I like having choices

There's a difference between saying "this is what I want in the next Visor" and "#$%$^%! When is Handspring going to #$#%#$% make $%#%#$% _____?"

When you've calmed down and can have a civil conversation, create a new posting. Closing thread.
