After much deliberation and considerations, and now witnessing the poor performance of the Handera 330 units on the market, the vision of perfection I had entertained of my dream PDA was but a fanciful <snap>dream.
Now with that <snap>, Visor Edge,lowering her price, I am utterly tempted. My Id is perfectly rigid and bouncing to-and-fro with lust after her. I need help to quell this evil desire from you all.
Big question: with the Edge's reduced prices and all these offers out, could it be possible that the Great <snap>, Handspring Inc. has come upon a new revolutionary PDA to be announced, and is planning on dumping Edge and dropping all plans to furnish accessories for her? THis is the only factor now giving me pause to push the BUY button. Industrial spies, please advise.

Im not an industrial spy but Im pretty good at predicting the future and I do see that HS is up to something. I definately see you with the Edge being entertained quite well, go with your instinct, you've known which one was really behind that fanciful wetdream all along.....havent you. I wouldnt worry about your fears of rejection its not in your cards.

A color version of the 330 would be a great device IMHO. Make sure its a reflective display!!!

Isn't it possible that HS is just over loaded with a large inventory of Edges? And the best way to move them is to discount them...?
From reading many threads on this issue, it sounds like there is a conspiracy theory going on with the HS Edge....

I just spoke to Mel Gibson -- he was driving a cab. He pulled me into a dark alley below Canal St., and laid out all the details:
It seems Jeff Hawkins is really James Bond. Not "figuratively" -- the REAL JB! Get a clue, folks: JH / JB? See how close they are?
Anyway, it seems he's really into DIAMONDS! (Prism ... Platinum ... Diamonds? See how close they are?)
He's liquidating all the assets of HS so he can take the full reigns of a DIAMOND MINE he discovered while on vacation a few weeks ago in the Kalihari.

That makes no sense bkbk?! Everyone knows diamonds are a girl's best friend, no James Bond's?!
Its obvious you were fooled by an ex-KGB, or perhaps ex-SMERSH, agent who it gathing all his resources to purchase diamonds in order to build a "large laser springboard" which he will launch into space and use to hold the world's governments for ransom!

Hmm.. I really like the design of the Edge, the red looks especially sweet! But.. carrying the Edge is like walking right off the a fashion show runway into your office. Maybe it was TOO stylish for many people who could afford the old price point ($400), and too expensive for a lot of hip students, starving artists, etc.
Just thinking out loud.

Ok, now about the Edge. I'd love it if someone gave it to me, but I'd never buy it. Go for an M500 & don't look back unless it's at an M505 for $50.00 more. (With a batt-saving color screen, it's even nicer!) The MMC/SD expansion seems to be picking up.

IMHO,
HS may be experiencing a slowdown in Edge sales spawned by the $299 price of the Vx at discount. The $100 buck rebate will get a lot of people thinking about an Edge who really do not see a need for a SB and would probably buy an Vx as a result.
HS is trying to reach that market segement. Their recent annoucement about sales being halve of what they thought when the Edge was released back in March tells me - Sales Aren't There therefore rather than lose out to Palm which is still sitting on a ton of Vx's and watch the half sales estimate go down even further?
HS will have to clear inventory before releasing any new device and the fact that Donna states in June what Palm stated in March about sales and earnings tells me that HS really missed what was happening.
HS will have to come out with a killer new Visor of some type with something totally unique and spectacular to continue to gain huge chunks of a flat market - that's the only way the will grow.
The new device will have to be color, long battery life, a smaller SB slot with plenty of vendors supporting the new slot and competively priced under $400 or not much above that threshold.
I have stated it before but will restate it here: Look for a Sept. 14th preview - the 2 year anniversary annoucement of the Visor or Oct. 15th - the 2 year anniversary of shipping the first Visor. Just MHO.
