I thought so too! Their web site had not been updated since March (although now it has,) and e-mail that I have sent to them has been ignored. So, they're alive... problem is, now I'm not so sure I want to give them any more of my business!

I placed an order for a Tactilis FlipLid to compare it to my FlipCover a couple weeks ago. I did not hear anything from them, and sent an E-mail asking if they were still alive and asking about my order status.

No answer to that either.

Yesterday, the lid showed up with an instruction sheet, packing list (one of the oddest I have ever seen), and the lid/hinge.

I cannot say it was the most positive experience I have ever had, but I can also be understanding if they are going through some sort of reorganization/rebuilding. (I wonder- is this a part-time job for them?)

By the way- there was a $1 off coupon on the instruction manual!

(As I type, I am listening to my SoundsGood MP3 player, with the FlipLid in place. It is kinda nice not worrying as much about leaving the screen exposed!)

You should have waited for the Flip-Lid instead of the Palm III reproduction lid! Can't wait for their new products to come out but I hope they become a little more consistent in the area of customer service.

I hope they also become a little more consistent in the area of coming out with their new products! How long have people been waiting for the Flip-Lid now? Their website still says Q1 2001 release...well, we're almost into Q3.

They finally updated their website on 18June2001. I had not visited in a while and just thought I would see if it was still there. Turns out they are finally moving into an actual building and getting ready to turn out some new products. Of course, they have been saying that for several months now. Too bad. Now I have the EB Slipper Prism with the belt clip and I refuse to give it up.

I didn't like the frosted cover on the FlipCover, so modified it as per my Avatar. Works great, and can read through the cover!

Just a FYI!

Pretty neat, ain't it?

Actually, I took off the provided frosted cover, and replaced it with plexiglass, making my own hinges. It really does work very well.

Sent a link to Tactilis to see if they have any interest in it. Wouldn't want anyone to think I am pirating their hardware.
