Cool

I just tried viewing my prism in full daylight with a new flip cover that I bought. It really helps to see the screen by lifting it , say halfway up, and shadeing the display. Not that there isnt some squinting still involved :-), but I can get everything I need (even a little ZAP 2016).

Plus It keeps me from locking up the $@!!@$#$@# buttons in my pocket and wiping out the *!#$%# battery.

BTW, I still think the trouble with the monochrom display in dim light conditions is worse than the prism use outdoors.

The incident I'm about to relate to happened twice. Up until now, I thought I'd eventually read about it, but haven't. But there were (as I said) two occasions where I had my Prism outdoors in full, direct sunlight and, huh? the visibility of the content on the screen was EQUAL to my old Vdx. It appeared as if the screen were monochrome. Copy on the screen was VERY clear and readable. I held the screen at the usual angle. BUT, I had to maintain that angle. (Rotating caused the image to disappear in the full sun as MANY readers have posted. I know I wasn't seeing things, but it happened. Note: screen lighting seemed to have no bearing on the visibility. The second time this phenomenon happened, I reduced screen brightness to the far LEFT. Could still see the screen and its contents perfectly. Weird. But true.

Smile you are not alone....

I had the same thing happen the other day with my prism. I too thought that I was seeing things. It was like I was looking at my old Bvd. The screen appeared monochrome if the tilt was just right. It made reading possible in the sunlight.

Here are some links to flip cover manufactures

Personnaly I think my flip cover looks kinda ugly, but it it is functional and keeps the size small of the visor enough to fit in my pocket.
