Unhappy

Well, this sucks. I just checked the areas I'd be using my VisorPhone. It appears that GSM won't work in Dallas/Fort Worth, Kansas City, nor Minneapolis/St. Paul. IMO, these are major metropolotin areas.

What gives? Will other GSM phones not work their either?!

you may have to buy the phone with out a contract and then activate it with a diffrent carrier, other than the one that Handspring has a contract.

a cupple of things
1. there is GSM coverage in Kansas City, but not in saint Louis.

2. If GSM coverage is sopty in your area (and in many areas it may be) consider waiting untill the AirPrim SB100 comes out. It is identicle to the Visor Phone, however unsted of working on the GSM network as the Visor Phone dose, it operates on the CDMA network (Sprint and Verizon PCS/digital) which has a much wider coverage network in this country.

gsm coverage?

I have been sing visorphone in the LA area for the last week. Coverage has been good. At least, if not better than my AT&T tdma coverage. Has anyone been using gsm in mountain areas or in other areas (even cities) where they have not gotten coverage? I travel a lot and want to know if gsm is decent around the country. PacBell tells me that they are in the proces of a big merger and that thier coverage is going to improve over the next year. Hope it's true!!

VisorPhone

I have the VisorPhone but am trying to find a free ISP to access the web. I have VoiceStream service and dont want to pay for another wireless service like OmniSky. Does anyone have suggestions? Thanks.
