Question

Hi, I suddenly started having problems with sudden battery drain killing my two month old visor.

possible factors:
I do have the backup mod, and I have been keeping it in the visor at times (but even before this problem).
I also once read that the serial ports on the palms could be "stuck" open from a command mistake and drain batteries.

Considering the nightmare of customer service, I am hoping someone can help here.
any thoughts?

Cool

I believe that if the serial ports of the Palm is stuck open, a soft reset will close them. They will seriously drain the batteries.

Also, be sure that in the Prefs, you have the beam receive set to "off".

"Sudden battery drain", what exactly do you mean?
[1] recently batteries don't seem to last as long
[2] batteries go from half full to dead so fast that the Visor doesn't have a chance to warn you.

Problem #2 is common if you use NiCad rechargable batteries, which is why they are not recommened for Visors.
