white screen

my prism's screen suddenly turned all white. i tried resetting and even removed the batteries to no avail. any ideas?

This happened to me after I had opened up the case to try to repair a small fracture near the power button. Apparently I jostled an electronic component when trying to put the case back together. I'm not sure what to call the component (as I'm no electrician), but it was located right near the IR port. Anyway, after a couple months of random crashes and other wierdness (like the white screen), I took it apart and found that one of the leads on this component had come loose. Resoldering it fixed the problem for me.

If you're interested, I could try to get a digital photo of the component so you know which one it was...
