Red face

I have noticed on eBay and here on this site a number of visors being sold at some stunning prices.

Has anyone considered if Handspring will honor the warranty of units resold by the original recipient?
Handspring may well consider it a used unit. Keep this in mind when buying a "new" unit for $100 or more above list.

Handspring can easily check their records to determine who was the original buyer of the unit. Please note under terms and condition on their web site:

"Orders; Payment; No Resale. Orders are subject to acceptance by Handspring. Payment must be received by Handspring prior to Handspring's acceptance of an order and must be made by credit card or other prearranged payment method. Customer shall pay interest on all past-due sums at the highest rate allowed by law. Customer shall not resell any Handspring products."

I believe this paragraph protects them from warranty claims for resold units.

Just keep it in mind before you buy a "new unit" from an entity other than Handspring.

I know that in the case of the one I sold, I'd be happy to send it back for the person as long as they covered all the costs.

On a side note, I'm not convinced that Handspring could 'just check their records'... I got my extra one as a shipping mistake and one doesn't have to look far back in the messages to see what a mess it has been and continues to be in some instances.

Even if it is purchased used, I'm sure that the warranty still applies. Handspring knows when the unit was first sold and when the warranty expires. Or, just tell the Handspring rep that it was a gift.
