Ok...I've been reading for a while, both here and the NG's and no-one has really suggested this.
What about a flip-up cover attached via the springboard? kinda like the placeholder that is there now, but with a hinged flip-up cover attached at the top?

good, bad....or old idea??
that is the only thing I really crave for my visor!

That sounds like a really good idea actually. It could maybe clip on the bottom somehow or even just hang there. I imagine it would be cheap too granted it wouldn't offer much substantial protection.

originaly we explored that idea. we have some drawings if you want to see them. But we opted against it because we thought it more important to have the ability to use the cover along with all other modules. we will be ready to publish a ton of info by next teusday so check us out! (we have concidered developing other incarnations as well so you tell us wheather or not to do once you see the images next week.)

Just got back in town. I was away on business getting the final modifications to the product completed.
We are working on putting the new and historical info live right now.

Hey, I know predicting a launch date is always a crap shoot as there are always tons of things that occur in between the announcement and the planned date.

Just keep us posted and let us know when you're ready!

ha! i bet many of you thought this was an announcement about the re-visor cover when you saw the little pink folder next to the thread!

actually, i had an idea. After looking at the GoVox voice recorder flip covers for the palm series from Landware. The palm III series is 0.2" wider than the visor and 0.1" shorter. I would LOVE to have this cover for my visor (with the voice recording) and I'm thinking of trying to fit it on by drilling 2 small holes (considering both products are 0.7" thick it should work out with a small modification for unit width).

THEN, i saw the Palm V series GoVox cover and had ANOTHER idea (ya, i know, 2 ideas in one day..many would tell me to slow down and not strain the brain so much ) It uses the left stylus silo to attach the cover to the Palm. Why not do something similar with the Visor?? Design a cover with a metal hinge attached to a metal 'stylus' like thing that slides into the stylus silo on the visor. THEN, incorporate a silo into the front (or side) of the cover for the stylus! I have an extra visor cover (girlfriend bought the slim leather case) so i might try 'duct taping' a prototype together. I don't think it'll be perfect but let's just call it a 'feasability study' for now.

If anybody else would like to continue on my idea and also try building a cover, PLEASE do so and let me know how it's going.
