Hi everybody, thought I might ask for your help (now that everybody else has failed to find a solution..).
I am trying to connect to internet through a Nokia 8210 (8290 in US). I purchased IrLink, installed everything following their manuals and set up an ISP account with Freeserve (UK).
I managed to connect twice the first day, but it never happened again.
I always get the same error message: "Error:serial timeout. Could be bad cable or faulty Modem (0x0305)".
I know the infra-red in both devices works (I have sent business card both ways), and I did connect once, so the modem works (I've also tried with other 8210s).
It seems to me (a complete ignorant, BTW) that the phone does not "understand/obbey" the order to dial, as it never even starts to call my ISP's number...
Please, any thoughts are very welcome. The people in IrLink have suggested all kind of changes, but yet no solution....
Thanks very much. hope I can help you back some other day....
