I'm waiting for a blue visor,I work outside as a tennis pro in hot Memphis. I plan on keeping a visor on the court with me all day long. I'd like to change my order to the more professional looking grey/black visor but I think it would get to hot(even in the shade). I chose a colored visor because I thought it would dissipate/reflect heat better. Is there anyone out there that can confirm this? Can anyone give me the go ahead to change my order or am I doomed to the toy colors.

I wouldn't really think it would make that much of a difference. The only reason you'd want one of the light, reflective colors is if it was sitting in direct sunlight. If you're going to be leaving it in the shade, then all the colors (as long as they're made with the same type of plastic) should dissipate/absorb heat about the same. You only really have to worry about the graphite visor if you're going to have it in direct sunlight.

Then again, I'm in Oregon so "direct sunlight" isn't something I have to worry about.

Paint all the windows in your car black...park in the sun...wait...check the temp.

I'll bet the car gets at least as hot if not hotter when the windows are left alone (clear). I think your best protection is to have your visor in its plastic/leather case...ideally a white opaque one but how ugly would that be?!.

The big question is how dark are the internal components. Polar bears have "ice" colored fur and black absorbtive skin... they're prone to overheating on sunny days on the ice pack. Also, you may check with the owners manual.

The colored visors have that translucent casing, exposing the the internal components more readily to heat/sun. However, as previously stated, they're all made from the same type of plastic and would probably absorb heat equally. Personally, I prefer the black visor, which is what I have. It has a slick look to it, professional yet sporty. Best Advice...get a good case for it. Say hello to Phil Chamberlain for me the Racquet Club of Memphis...used to teach there part-time for about two years before moving back to Cincinnati. I played my college tennis at Xavier University in Cinti. -Edwin
