I'm wondering about how i might use a modem with the visor to access my e mail from work. We have our own exchange server and domain and T1 lines connecting us to other sites and the internet. So there is no dial in capabilities right now. We can access our Outlook files from other sites through the web. Could i do that with a modem and visor? I would have to have internet software on the visor obviously. What do you think?

You would probably be better off with one of the ethernet adapters that Xircon has announced they will be producing for the Visor. This would allow you to connect to the LAN at your office (I assume you have a LAN..hopefully not just one computer with a T1). It would also be *much* faster than the modem. Then again, modems are available now, and who knows then the ethernet springboard will be available.

Yes we do have a LAN. We also use ethernet. Does anyone know if it is even possible to use a modem to access the web site and my outlook e-mail even though it might be slow? If it is not possible, can i use this other wireless method when it comes out?
I feel alittle techno disadvantaged- I called the handspring tech line and they weren't much help- he kept saying i could do it, but also kept referring to dialing in.
Any help out there is greatly appreciated!!!

I used a modem with my PalmIII to get my mail. Depends on what your mail server is (Exchange, POP, etc.) as opposed to your client (Outlook, Netscape, etc.).
My company was using Exchange with POP, and I used ProxiMail to access it via Windows RAS. I can also access my AT&T mail using ProxiMail. There's also an add-on or two for AOL you can find.
