If we were limited to springboard - then I'd say backup module.

I love my handspring though, even though I haven't used it in almost a year. I actually bought 2 backup Neo's, 1 backup stowaway, and all the cheap modules I could find - I think I've got everything I could want (except the presenter-to-go which is still a little expensive).

I think the handspring is the perfect traveling companion.

Oh yeah, I'd like to get a pair of those rubber "Armor" cases for the handspring too...

(sorry I degenerated from springboard to favorite accessories!)

Most of my modules (Eyemodule, Xircom 56K Modem, Sprint phone module, memory expansion module) are collecting dust, but I always keep my backup module on my Visor. It has saved my butt a couple of times, too.

I'd have to vote for the 8mb flash memory. Not exciting, but gets used everyday. Used it both in my Solo and in my Prism. Still going strong!!

The Presenter to Go was a great idea until I figured out I could save my Powerpoint presentation slides as jpg files and load them from my digital camera just like with the Margi module...and do it for nothing as I already owned both the camera and the cable. Yet another in a long line of Springboard modules that were too expensive by atleast a three-fold factor...

I'd have to give my first vote to the VisorPhone. With a good headset plugged into the top the sound quality really is pretty good. The neat thing is it has a built-in modem, so you can surf the net and get SMS messages (like stock alerts).

Next would be the EyeModule2. Not for use as a primary camera, but sure comes in handy if someone falsely accuses you of hitting their car in the parking lot (saved my butt!).

Then there's the MemPlug with SD/MMC card. So far I've just used it for backups, but with the software from PI it looks like there so much more one could do with it (maybe put full size dictionaries on it, for example).

Too bad HS is discontining the Springboard and the Visor line. Good stuff here. After looking at the Treo line I decided to buy a VisorPro while they were still available. I'm in my 50's and really appreciate the bigger screen.

Definately the MemPlug in my book. The one Springboard that stayed in my Visor.

Second place would definately be the Backup Module. This would have been replaced by the MemPlug as well, but I just never put the same faith in it for Backups. The Backup Module was bulletproof for me.

I probably have to go with the GPS Companion too - I travel a lot, and as far as directions go, I have good days and bad days - even in my own city! But I haven't really tried the wireless com route on my Prism yet, and I was wondering what's worked best for people. I was pretty excited about the Digital Link, but now they are not upgrading it, so I'm a little gunshy. I am interested mainly in the wireless web, but I want more than WAP ( I think). I guess I'm asking if there is something wireless that is close to surfing at home?

Visorphone! I loved having Palm OS + phone in one unit.

Unfortunately I had to bag it recently, as the phone service stunk big time for the areas I spend my time. 4 dropped calls on my ride to work every day was just too much. I really miss the all-in-one approach.

I would have to cast my vote for the Memplug. I have a 128 Meg Smartmedia card in mine, and it rarely leaves. It has the backup abilities of a normal backup module, and Pidirect is superior to VFS filesystem for many applications. (Although the module supports VFS, too.)

Number two vote in my book is the Xircom WIFI module. A real bear to get working sometimes, but once it is working, it is fun to wander around the house connected to the web. It is not actually very practical, but it is fun.

Number 3 is the Eyemodule. I have the original, but I would have bought an Eyemodule II if the Visor had not gone belly-up.

BTW, I am an avid Treo 90 user, but my Prism still get pulled out a few times a week for various things...

ON THE TOP TIER: (keeping in mind i've got a Visor and Visor Neo)
-backup module
-16 MB hagiwara flash module

in the 8.5 months i've had the Neo and in the 2.5 years i had the orignal Visor before that, my Visor must've gone completely dead about 5 times. Of those 5 times, x2 were truly the backup module's time to shine as i was still using Win98 at the time (damn thing crashed everyday, had to reinstall apps on several occassions) and when i was on vacation. Ever since my sister pointed out the fallacy of keeping the module in the handheld everywhere you go (what if u break or lose the handheld? You risk losing your mainstream AND backup device), so now i just keep it at home except on long vacations. The MOST important and yet least touched module

On the other hand, the flash module's always in there. I was initially annoyed at the main limitation of not being able to load certain relatively large files (e.g. databases) soley on the module, resulting in fatal errors. This flaw is rather shortcomed for 2 reasons. 1) i've already got 5MB of games and stuff on there and 2) got it for only $32!!!

2ND TIER:
-SoundsGood mp3 player

Would've been Spectacular if it came with 256MB or even just 128MB of RAM, but still works REALLY well. I'll still be getting a real, stand alone player, but this novelty item satisfies minor music urges just fine

FINALLY:
-RAYCOM personal massager

sounds tempting. Ill eventualy succumb to online pressure and get it

My Prism is mostly used now for notes, some calendering, and occasional games and music. I don't go on business trips anymore so the Thinmodem has lost it's appeal, although it was great when I used it.

I may set the eyemodule up with my old Deluxe, which seems to be working again, and let my oldest (nine year old) use it for giggles. It's never too soon to get your kids hooked on tech...

My #1 module is the FlashPlus.

The Backup module is great, but I also use JackBack to do the same thing with the FlashPlus, so if I had to pick one, it would be the FP. That's what stays in my prism all the time anyway.

I've got 10MB+ of software, 10MB+ of images, plus databases and more.

Other good ones are the ThinModem+ (Freaks people out to see me logging into servers and doing COBOL work on a visor), the StepKeeper, and the Targus voice recorder.

As for accessories in general, the Stowaway is awesome.

I'd love an OmniRemote and the WiFi modules, if I could find 'em cheap.

b/c, really, any mem / bk will end up as 'most valuable' -esp if it saves your butt
(and even if it never did, it might)

but others are great for their own reasons
like Thinmodem, almost just for 'looks' (best-looking sb?)

since its so thin for what it does, etc
