I've been hotsyncing my VDX through my usb cradle almost daily for about 2 months. Today my computer crashed (blue screen of death) and after rebooting, I can't hotsync.
Tried adding new hardware in control panel (didn't detect it, tried manually and it said it was "plug and play") - no hotsynci
Tried removing usb root hub through device manager and letting it find itself again - no hotsynci
Tried switching usb ports - no hotsynci
Tried everything I can think of and it's no worky. Hotsync is running, cradle is plugged in firmly, visor is making good contact with cradle (and says connecting with the desktop) but they ain't talking.
HELP!!!

p.s. - other usb devices (diamond rio for example) are working fine, so it must be not a usb problem.

How bout that manual?
After trying everything I could think of with no luck, I finally used my absolutely last resort - I read the manual.
I don't quite understand why, how, or what it would have to do with it, but the manual suggested a soft reset. Said soft reset was performed, and now it's worky!

Have you done a soft reset on your visor. Occasionally I have had to do this because my visor stops syncing.

Have you tried removing all software, and disconnecting the visor as well, rebooting the machine at least once without all the abovementioned stuff and then first install the software without the visor attached and then attach the visor..
let me know if this doesn't help

Thanks for your help!
The soft reset worked!
I'm not sure quite why, it seemed to me to be a problem with my computer, but anyways....

Was there a time warp or a tear in the space-time continuum that I was unaware of? Those postings about solving his problem appeared AFTER he had solved his own problem....
Mchlwise, maybe a soft reset will help.

Nhatman, I think there was something like that going on. I appreciate the help, though, so I posted the thank you message anyways.
