You're right!! ...upcoming products featuring wireless Internet access.

I totally missed that when I read that article! So now we have another clue about handspring's upcomming products to add to our list!

Now we know:

-at least one Handspring PDA will have wireless internet access.

-a cell phone springboard is probably in the works, release date in December(?) based on Hawkins comments after the PC Expo and during it.

-At least one new Handspring unit will be more expensive than the current ones (based on Q4 earnings report).

-Next Handspring PDA will probably be released by December (again from PC Expo comments.)

Anyone else want to add to the info list?

Sounds pretty conjectural on the journalist's part. I'd really love to see the original quote that led to that inference, something more than an "allusion." Other journalists have claimed that Handspring is coming out with color versions, other still that the company is rolling out a Palm V-styled model. None of the cases are backed up by anything other than "we have other products coming out" type of quotes.

It's fun to speculate, but speculation about Handspring is usually wrong. Anybody remember "The Razor"?

I have thought about this and it seems to me that Handspring wouldn't make a wireless Visor. For this to be worthwhile almost the entire userbase would need wireless internet access and that certainly isn't the case.

The Visor is a product that can be customized for an individual's needs. That is why there is a springboard and that is why there are modules. I can see Handspring making a cell phone/ wireless internet springboard and putting their name on it, but I can't see them including this feature within their handhelds.

I guess if Handspring were to expand there product line to resemble Palm's then they could have a PDA with built in wireless capabilities. Why would Handspring want to have a product line like that??? I don't think they would. They may want a high end and low end PDA, but not special feature PDA's. I would think Handspring would add features like color and better internals; things that an expansion slot can't upgrade. At least that is what makes sense to me.

It doesn't say who is making the product. It just says something about upcoming products. It could very well be products FOR the visor. It probably meant the upcoming wireless springboards.
