I'm really interested in fitting in post-it notes into the springboard slot - do they actully make ones that are that size?

Yes they do!!
I do have it in my springboard cover. It has proved to be very helpful. The only drawback is that since the post-it notes fits exactly in the cover, the knobs at the sides of the cover that locks the cover in place does not have much of free-play and hence it is a bit tight.

Tan,

The "small" 3M Post-it is an *exact* fit. Here's a hint: Each pad has 100 sheets. Peel off about 1/3 of them and "stick" your mini-pad to the inside of the springboard cover. That way they wont fall out or jam-up the cover when you open it.

Here's a link to a picture of what it looks like: http://mayhem.res.cmu.edu/~cheese/sticky.JPG

If you're careful, you can take about a third of a pad and cut off a few millimeters (8th of an inch) cleanly and they fit perfectly without touching the cover tabs.

and you end up with a completely useless pad of sticky notes about an 1/8" wide!!
now if only i could think of an idea to use them up!

I use mine as a stylus...it's less likely to scratch than the original...

What I'm trying to figure out is how that six pack module works...I'm just not sure how they can get all that beer in such a tiny space....and what about the electrical problems if there's a leak???

What am I missing? It's cool that the mini Post-Its fit into the Springboard slot, but... isn't one of the Visor's key features the ability to ELIMINATE little slips of paper like that in the first place...?

OK, here's a new challenge: while Vaporgear's getting its act together, let's see if we can come up with a new SixPack.

Let's see . . .

1. Matches
2. Toothpicks
3. Post-Its
4. $.50 in change
5. A moist towelette
6. A folded stick of chewing gum

Yeah, I know it seems far-fetched, but I believe that with enough engineering wizardry we can acheive this level of integration and ship it by "Summer."

LOL...then we could delay the shipping due to unexpected shortage of major components [eat the chewing gum instead of putting it into the Springboards - then we might have to come up with a 'patch'].
We could also add some safety pins and call it the "7Pack" (sounds a little like 7Up to me...)

I know. Sometimes people are, shall we say, "unclear on the concept".

Just the other day a friend of mine takes out his Palm and flips up the lid. Affixed to the inside of the lid was a post it note with some vital info on it!

He was chagrined when I pointed out the absurdity of the situation.

I would have loved to keep a supply of Penguin Caffeinated Peppermints (http://www.peppermints.com/)in my Springboard cover, but alas, they are just a bit too large. Maybe if they were to come out with micro-Penguin-mints, that would work. As G-Man said, tic-tacs fit... but carrying around caffeine in your Visor would be supa-cool.

Thumbs up

I have to come to the defense of the "post-it springboard".

I've got post-its in there for numerous reasons other than jotting down notes (which as was pointed out, should be done on the actual Visor)

{sidebar: I think it was Hawkins that said that the competition for the palm platform is not the pc, or even wince stuff, but paper. Can you make something that is as easy to use as paper is? If not, you won't be successful)

The post-it springboard is useful for:

Writing information to give to your non-pda equipped friends (can't beam em).

Marking your place in books or whatever else you may be reading (depositions, legal documents, yes I work at a law office) that aren't on your Visor.

Any other place that you need a post-it note and you wouldn't normally be carrying one (reviewing stuff and making notes/instructions for your staff away from your desk for example) but would have your Visor with you.

Thumbs up

In SixPack 2.0, I think you should sub a condom for the matches.

Post-Its work very well with the pen stylus. If I need to leave a note for someone, I always have a pen and Post-Its in my visor (at least, until I buy the Innogear 2/V)

Good points! Thanks for clarifying.
Now all we need is a stylus that converts to an ink pen...

As an alternative, yesterday I noticed that Staples sells stylus tip adapters that can be attached to conventional pens/pencils. By Fellowes, I believe (the WriteRight people)...
