Well, at least the have product to back up the open secret. I think that this will do moderately well--there's nothing spectacular about it (I'm still not clear on how well the mail forwarding works), but it doesn't fall on its face either a la the m505 screen debacle...

If Handspring were planning on a limited release despite it's "parts-shortage" now would be the time to do it, then the by-lines in all the "Palm's new wireless device" stories would read "but is shown up by Handspring voice-integrated Treo."

The last time they allowed a "secret" to become publicly known, we had the product shortages that delayed the release of the m505. This time, when the details started heating up, there was a product actually existant and available behind them--one that didn't cut into market share.

I saw the clip on news.com, and for a second was intrigued.

I like they way he zings Handsprings "uber device."

Was thinking of getting one, but it isn't in COLOR. Bad move, IMHO. Only 12 megs? They really want people to go back to the dark ages. Sheesh!! :-) For $450.

I wonder if it can sync avantgo channels wirelesly? It should if it can surf the web.

My Treo 600 is my phone, my PDA, my watch, and my MP3 player. Oh yeah, I take a picture once in a while with it. Convergence is such a great thing.

Am I missing something or is this 'just' a Palm VII in a '505' size/look?

The 7 only works with the palm network... which means it is useless for non-US people...

Color would be nice to if they want to update the 7.. especially with the webability...
