I was just wondering if anyone knew if someone like novatel or whoever had any plans to come up with a springboard modem to access ricochet's 128 kbps network? Thanks for any information.

I second that
I am also VERY interested to see such a thing, though I guess the market would be less than that for a PC card ricochet. The iPaq H3600 takes PC cards with an "sleeve" and that, my friends, is cool. But I can't support Wince-or MS. YUCK.

Agreed
I see those hokey ads all the time in Houston, and would love a 128Kb wireless module.

Prism and Ricochet
I have a ricochet modem which I rarely use on my laptop anymore and have been working on the integration of the Ricochet to the Prism for months. I have friends who have used the ricochet with their Palm Vx so I knew it was possible with the right cable combination.
I recently ordered a Mark/Space DCH-M2 for $29.95 which is their Visor (including Prism) to modem cable. The Datacord includes a special circuit board in the Visor end of the cable to convert the Visor voltage to the proper levels for RS232. The M2 model which I bought also includes a circuit to assert the DTR line which many devices expect to be on or they will not operate.
It is on backorder, but I expect to see this cable in a week or so and will let you know how it works with the Ricochet. I have this vision of a Prism with a Ricochet Velcro'd to the back of it and the whole thing blazing away at 128KB...

Big power sponge...
A cohort of mine in another area of the company has Ricochet in his Compaq iPaq. He tells me the thing sucks power like a sponge. In one playing around session, his fully charged batteries were depleted to near dangerous levels. Power issues aside, he liked the speed. The power issues can't be ignored though.

Another issue that can't be ignored is the price. All of the ads I've seen are for $74.95/month. I thought $40/month was steep.
One of my friends in the computer business had one of those things attached to his iPaq. Although I did not get to use it extensivly (we were technically working ), I must say that it was VERY fast. He downloaded an MP3 and played it for me right then and there. Total download time was probably like 4 minutes, which is comparable to my DSL at times.
