Unhappy

I recently received a Visor Deluxe with USB cradle. I have Win 98 SE, with 2 USB ports. The Visor will sync everything correctly EXCEPT program databases ending in .pdb, or ANY program files over 90 kb. I don't know what can be causing this because it works at an accquaintance's home. Recently I snapped a pin on the floppy connection on the motherboard, but that can't be causing it, can it? I really need to discover what this problem is as I can't install AvantGo or anything.
Thanks,
Jon

I've had similar problems (see my message:"Can't sync Comm Apps). This does not happen with the serial cradle though. I'm wondering whether it's a Visor/ USB problem, a general USB problem or simply one with our particular computers. I had been working on the assumption that it was due to my using an older version of Win98, or having installed a USB port card in an older computer, but since it's also happening to you with SE, it's back to the drawing board. I'm glad now that I ordered that extra serial cradle.

Exclamation

My problem appears to differ somewhat from yours because my full error message is HotSync operation started 11/29/99 21:44:16
- Install failed: C:\Program Files\Palm\Jon\Install\avantgo.prc
Install synchronization failed
HotSync Error: Connection is lost (6410)

I called tech support and they said they've never heard of it before. They said I need a new conduit and then essentially hung up! I'm a little upset over this as most good programs for Palm OS have these .pdb files or are over 90kb in size. I really don't feel like buying a new motherboard and installing it JUST as an experiment in fixing this problem. I might just go ahead and format the drive and reinstall Win98 SE but that's a real pain considering I have to share the computer and everyone else will get upset over not being able to play games for the moment . Oh well... If anyone has any info, please email me at [email protected] . Thanks a lot.
