Lightbulb

I hope the next update for the eyemodule 2 will allow me to take color movies on my visor deluxe. I still dont understand why you cant do this in the first place. If you can take color photos on a visor deluxe why cant you take color movies. I am going to contact Blocks Products and see what they have to say about all of this. If anyone else out there would like this done please contact them too. The more emails they get about this the more they might do something about it. here is there email address: [email protected]

Post I'd love to have this ability but ...

I'm not sure it could be reasonably implemented. From what I can tell from looking through the eye2 SDK, mini-movies are simply preview images stitched together. So whatever you see on your visor screen is what is recorded. It might be possible to trick the eye2 module into color preview mode when it is installed in a greyscale visor and then have it send those color preview images to a memory buffer where they can be stitched together to form a mini-movie. The unfortunate side effect of this would be that you wouldn't be able to see what you're recording on the visor screen because the greyscale screen can't handle the color preview images that are being sent from the eye2 module.

Another interesting poll question might be:
Would you like to be able to record color movies on a greyscale visor if you couldn't tell for sure what you were recording and couldn't play back the movie on your greyscale visor?

I personally would like this ability but others might think it would be silly given the above constraints.

I want the opposite. I want to be able to get b&w photos and movies on my Prism. I talked to support and they gave me the genric answer of maybe in the future. I just don't have the memory, or the lighting that colro often requires. b&w will often look better in my cases.

I think this would be a great feature, both for Prism users who want to save space, and for non-Prism visor users who would at least be able to take B&W (greyscale) movies.

I would like to see the viewing of the actual full sized picture I've just taken, not just the thumbnail, taken a split second before. Have you noticed when you take full sized photos that the thumbnail photo you see in the visor is different then the actual picture when it gets uploaded to your computer? At the very least, there should be some way to have the main photo taken first and the thumbnail taken afterwards.

As for taking colour movies on a b&w visor, I would also like that very much. perhaps there would be a way to have a preview, even if it were only a really crappy one? like only pay attention to one color channel, and whether it was above or below a certain range? Or perhaps the preview would be at a reduced framerate?
