Question

hello!

I was trying to install the dopewars game on my visor, and I can't get it to work! I downloaded it to the add on file in the palm folder. When I went to the install function to find the downloaded game, it could not be found, but when I searched on the Windows desktop, it was in the palm add on file. I've never installed a game before, and have no idea what I did wrong. Do I have to do something special if it's a zip file? If anyone can advise, or even give a step by step or site where i can get step by step instructions to downlaoad and install apps, I'd really appreciate it! I was able to install avantgo, no problem, but this game is driving me crazy!
Thank you all for your time!!!

Try these steps:
0. Make a folder in your hardisk for download file.
1. Download the file (i.e. game);-usually in zip format- to the folder.
2. Use program to unzip the zip file. Winzip is the most used program.
3. After you unzip the file you will see file/s with the .prc or .pdb extention. This is the file to install to your visor, just double click it and next time you hotsync, the file will be installed to your visor.

Another program that can extract the zip file is Aladdin Expander. I find it easier to use and seems to handle more file formats than WinZip. The only drawback is that you can't make zip files.

Try PowerArchiver2000. It can both pack and unpack files, handles a whole bunch of different formats and best of all, it's free.
I have been using it for almost 8 months now and I think it's great. You can get it at Tucows.com or any other download site.

Enjoy!
