Universal Keyboard!

Over at PIC, there's a story with a link to Pocketop, which is making a foldable, IR-enabled keyboard! IOW, I don't have to wait for @&@#% ThinkOutside to get their act together on the Treo, or on any future Palms. There will be a kb that works with them ALL!

I just hope it's implemented well!

--edit:

Looks sturdier than the stowaway, but it also looks like it's not a full-size keyboard. Here are the specs, taken from here:

...looks too small to be full size, no?

I read the PIC story...and two things I don't like

1) - You have to rotate the Visor to use it! AAAAARRRGGHHHHH! - (Is it that hard to make a little case design to fit the Visor, like the SmartPad does?)
2) - It looks like you need to put that little case over the PDA and its IR port to use it...will this fit something like the Treo, which is smaller and has an obviously different design? (Will the Flip Cover get in the way?)

BTW - 100th Post!!!! Not bad for being a member since 12 February!

From the company's support FAQ

Why are some of the keys ridged?

Try typing and you will see that this is one of the ways that we have been able to place a traditional keyboard in your pocket. You will note that instead of giving you a full-size key, we have cut the key in half and raised it towards the back so that it acts as a "backboard" for your finger.

Can anyone say Go-Type?

Erm, can you fit the Go-Type in YOUR pocket?

Obviously not, so, the best keyboard would either be this, the Stowaway or the cool Half-Keyboard, or those thumb-boards.

I personally own the SnapNType and it's pretty good, for typing short notes :>

Regards.

Thanks
