I am new to this whole visor craze, but I LOVE it. The question that I have for the group is wheither or not I can leave the back up module in the visor or if i need to take it out. the problem i may have if i take it out is that i will no doubt lose it. please let me know if it is safe. Backup up Module

I do not know if it is dangerous to leave the module in or if it is technically not good to leave it in. However, I haae left mine in for about 2 weeks now and nothing untoward has happened to my visor. I, too, know that if I do not leave it in, I will probably lose it. So unless I hear otherwise mine too is staying in.

I've left it in for about 6 months...works great! I back up every few days or so (plus hotsyncing a few times a day), and it's been a lifesaver. My Visor crashes every once in a while (once every month or two, although it happened this morning for no apparent reason) and all I have to do is touch the restore button and then hotsync to get the latest data for my built-in apps.

I'm not aware of any technical reason to not leave it in. However, it strikes me as a bad idea. What if you lose the whole unit with the backup module inside it? Then you have lost your easiest method of restoring your data and apps into your new Visor.

I always take out the backup module. I keep the visor with me and the backup module in my backpack. I just dont like the idea of keeping all of my backed up information along with the visor. kindof defeats the purpose

Depends on what your purpose is. If your only goal is to protect against hard resets, then there's no reason not to keep them together. In fact, it makes it easier to perform frequent backups, and it's always handy if you need to restore.

I wouldn't leave it in. One of the reasons I like the Backup Module is that it gives me another complete copy of my Visor data. If I lost my Visor or it was stolen and it had the module in it, I'd only have the computer backup, which isn't nearly as easy to recover from.

I'm actually thinking about getting a second Backup Module so that if I travel I can leave one at home with my data from before I left, then bring the other with me so I can backup my data while I'm away and restore if something happens.

Anyway, I don't think there are any technical reasons not to leave the backup module in your Visor, but I wouldn't. I'd suggest getting some sort of case for it (I've heard that Gameboy game cases work, as do some pager cases) so that it's larger and easier to lose.

I'm relatively new to the Visor world, and I'm happy as a lark. This little doohicky really works for me. That's why I have the backup module. If I lost my Visor, I'd be crushed. Too much reliance on technology, I suppose, but here we are.

I don't keep my module in my Visor, for the very reason that if I lost the Visor, I'd have my backup. And, I backup daily. Also, when I'm on the road the module gives me a wonderful sense of security. :-)

As far as cases, I found a beauty, but it may not be available to everyone. I get these rotten migraines, so the medication I use is a prescription for Maxalt. It comes in this hard plastic case that is about 1/3rd larger than the springboard modules. I saved the little cases cause they were so cute, and seemed a shame to toss. Now, I have this excellent use for them. So, if any of you can get hold of these from your docs, if they have spares, I truly recommend them. I know, seems silly, but I just had to mention it........
