Angry Launcher III programs on card disappeared

I have a Prism with a matchbook drive compact flash adapter & am using Launcher III to run numerous programs from the CF card (128M CF card, I was loving it!!). I wanted to show my father how the expansion springboard slot could be used for GPS etc., so I turned off the Visor & pulled out the adapter to show him the slot. When I pulled out the adapter, the Visor came on & after a second or so Launcher started up and all the programs that had been moved to the card no longer had icons. I turned off the Visor & reinserted the adapter. No help. I tried a soft reset. No help. I tried a system reset. No help. I am afraid that if I do a hotsync, the Palm Desktop will just read that as all of those programs having been deleted, and will just sync itself up to the new config. I am speculating that a hard reset may be in order, followed by a hotsync, so that the config. currently saved in the desktop will be replaced on the Visor. But before I go to that extreme, I really want some input from someone who can assure me that is wise.

(What ticks me off is that none of the people I conversed with previously, & none of the software warned me that I cannot remove the adapter -- or the CF card, I assume -- without screwing up my links.)

******Please HELP!!

this is correct. there's no point in having icons for software that's on a card that's not in the unit.

did you tell launcher iii to refresh the apps? (click the little hammer in the gadgets section and select refresh apps from the list.)

Yes. Refresh apps does nothing.

What version are you using; beta or the new ver 2.o release? Have you enabled VFShelper? Does VFShelper show that the card has been found? Go to FAUtil and test the card to see if it's ok. If none of this works go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/flashadapter-forum and discribe the problem and see what help you get.
