Is there any way to connect to the internet through a USB cradle using the visor platinum? So far I've only read that it's impossible on the first generation visor's but I'd like to know if this is also the case for the platinum. Thanks.

Why would you want to do this? I don't think that you could use a setup like this to go mobile, because no modems have an external USB support cable. Why not just use the monitor on you're computer to browse the web?

Why I'd want to do this...
I'd like to cache some webpages in a palm browser and take the occasional ICQ message with me, so it's easiest if I just connect directly and transfer some data from the web.

Yes you can cache images with Avantgo, no need for a modem on your visor just a connection via your computer, and USB or serial connection to your visor. You must download and configure avangto first.

Access the net
There is a program that may work if you have a serial cradle. I have it and used it when I had a palm. It's called Palm Redirector. You can access your pc modem, pc printer and something else like transfer text (forgot). It works well.
