Well Sony annouced a new US Clie. The Clie T655

Man they don't waste time. This looks good, a T615 with the color fidelity of an NR series device, plus an Mp3 player and a 66mhz processor to boot

Looks just like the T615 except for the MP3 player. What are the other differences?

Also, is there a Stowaway available for this series?

Do files get embarrassed when they get unzipped?

Yeah...but it still has the same AWFUL buttons!

Sounds nice, but I won't buy one until it has better designed buttons (what was Sony thinking). Also, in a review I read it indicated very poor battery life--5 hours continuous use with the backlight OFF!

We all know that Sony can design good buttons. Anyone who has seen an NR70/V can attest to that. They just need to put it on a device like T665 and they would be set.

as far as battery life goes, that is the biggest stickler for me. The problem with all of these battery life measurements is that are based on using the built-in programs. I am sure that the way I use a handheld it would be even less, opening programs from the card w/ Launcher III, playing MP3s, playing games. So I would get, what, an hour of battery time. That may be okay during the summer, but during the school year when I also take notes with it I would want much more battery life.

T615c also has 16-bit color, so take that out of the 'new features' list. Replace it with 'better screen that actually shows reds'

Still waiting on it (3rd quarter, supposedly). However, the connector for the T665 is the same as for all the other T-series Clies, and the NR70.

Me, too. In find that the battery life on the 615C is barely acceptable. Barely. Anything less than the 615C's life is completely unacceptable to me. It still rankles me at times.

I'd like to see Sony get the buttons and battery life right next, even if it means a slightly bigger form factor. Or come up with a screen that doesn't have to be backlit when reading text.

How do apps and games, etc run on the faster processor? Seems like they would go too fast to be controllable, etc. Are their any conflicts with the faster processor and any apps? I was reading something about the new OS5 devices would use an emulator for 4.1 programs and they had to fall under Palmsource's coding guidelines to work properly. Wonder how many apps this is going to render useless on a new device.
