Question Password

Does anyone know how to password protect a Visor so that it requires a password to access the main screen after turning the unit on? I know it can be done by setting a password just prior to shutting the unit off, however it only works with next time the unit is turned on, not on subsequent times.
Thanks

Tap the "Security" icon.. Probably in the System category, but you can always find it by selecting 'All' from the drop down menu at the top right of the screen. From there you can select a password.

You can go tap the "Preferences" icon (also - probably in you System category) and tap "Pen" and be able to turn off and lock the visor with a stylus swipe.

Hope this helps!

Eeasylock is a good hack, you may want to look into it.

I am having the opposite problem. I know it is a longshot, but . . .
A user I support had a password on her Palm. She does not remember what it is, and I can't sync her data to the PC with that password there. Last night she clicked on the button to lock the Palm and turn it off. Now she can't get to her data. She also has a lot of address that are only in her Palm. Is there any hope at all??

Oh yea, there is hope.

Get pCrack from http://www.atstake.com and install it on your PDA. Beam it to her PDA and voila'

If her beam is off -- I think you can reset and it defaults to on.

Perhaps she should keep the password to something a little more "rememberable" like "visor" or something? Sure works for me.

IF that does not work, there is another trick or two you can try. I just can't think of them right now.

good luck,

Depending on what version of Palm OS is on her palm and if anyone here knows the memory location that the password is stored to, you can put the palm in debug mode download the memory location and hack the password that way.

Never tried it, but heard this works.
