"Call me Lisbeth"

Not to mention Liddy Dole's victory over that insipid Erskine Bowles in my northern neighbor state. And (my own personal favorite) Lindsey Graham's defeat of the most annoying person in the world to take Strom Thurmond's seat here in S.C.

Voted to oust Pataki.
He won anyway. Four more years of smiling corruption. Joy.

Said by Yorick: Voted to oust Pataki.

I'm glad to see that there is some intelligent life here.

Said by Felipe: Hey, don't talk about my boss like that. state worker.

In that case Yorick and I are your bosses because it is our taxes that pay your salary.

For those of you who remember, I was the campaign manager for a candidate for the NYS Assembly this year. With 99% of the vote reported, my candidate won with 20,000 votes and his opponent with 850 votes. I'd say a pretty convincing victory for a first time candidate.

I like these victories better, for United States House of Representatives seats from my home state of Nebraska

First District
Lee Terry (R) - 86,697 votes / 63%
Jim Simon (D) - 44,980 votes / 33%
Other Candidates (G/L) - 4,021 votes / 4%

Second District
Doug Bereuter (R) - 130,464 votes / 85%
Robert Eckerson (L) - 22,308 votes / 15%

Third District
Tom Osborne (R) - 157,324 votes / 93%
Jerry Hickman (L) - 11,293 votes / 7%

Boy, you think we had to work for these wins?

Dade and Broward counties finally got it right! One more goof up and the rest of us were ready to excise them from the state.

We get to look forward to four more years of Bush putting education further in the toilet.

Only if the economy gets back on it's feet. Time he got off the Iraq war wagon and concentrate on things back home.

I was happy to see that Bush is putting pressure on Iraq and asked for Congressional approval, however, the country is hurting economically and needs immediate correction.

Of course, Bush inheirited an economic downturn and then 9/11 happened.

However, come 2004, if the economy is still sour, Bush will probably lose. Always happens and always will, notwithstanding the party in power. Case in point was Clinton's second term. Economy was wonderful and people ignored his sleazy ways.

Edit

Rather than edit my above post and have no one notice, I want to clarify that I wasn't calling Strom Thurmond the most annoying person in the world. Lindsay Graham's opponent to be Strom's successor is...

jhappel--congrats! (Even though I probably wouldn't have voted for your candidate...)
