The test file can be downloaded at the Hanspring website
Visor Test V1.0

Handspring has identified a component in a small percentage of its
Visor Deluxe (8MB) products that in very rare circumstances could cause
an error requiring the customer to reset their unit. This applies
mostly to extreme cases where all 8MB of memory is full or near full.
Visor Test is used to test a memory component contained on the
Handspring Visor that may occasionally cause a "Fatal Error". This
utility will NOT affect user data stored on the Visor handheld.

This utility is for Handspring Visor Deluxe handhelds with 8MB of
memory. 2MB Visor and Visor Solo handhelds are not affected.

Visor Test Instructions
-----------------------

To Install:
1. Double-click the Visor Test.prc file on your desktop computer to
launch the Palm Install Tool.
2. This will cause the next HotSync operation to copy the utility to
your handheld.
3. Perform a HotSync operation with your handheld.

To Run:
1. Launch Visor Test application.
2. Tap on the Test button.
3. You should receive a message that says: "Test complete. No problem
detected."
4. If you receive a message that says: "Please enter your Visor serial
number located inside the battery door and press OK.", enter the serial
number included on the back of your battery door as it appears.
5. Visor Test will test your memory component. If you receive a
message that says: "Test complete. A potential component issue may
exist. Please contact Handspring customer care for additional
information." you will need to contact Handspring Customer Care for the
latest information on this issue.
