I heard that you couldn't run programs directly from the compact flash card.

Is that true for all flash memory? For instance would i be able to do it from a MMC card.

Also does anyone know anything about the innodrive/mmc

All of the flash memory card standards (SecureDigital, MultiMediaCard, SmartMedia, CompactFlash, and Memory Stick) contain memory that is not directly visable to the host CPU. That means that none of them will allow the PalmOS to access databases on the media without special AutoCF style OS extensions.

Question

Does anyone know of anyone developing and AutoCF OS upgrade for the Palm? Seems like it would be the next step for Kopsis. Anyews on this?

Kopsis, Inc. is currently working on the development of such a product. However, there are many technical issues to overcome so we cannot currently commit to a release timeframe (or even guarantee that we can pull it off).
