I just bought stowaway from buy.com because I have a coupon. Also, they are selling for $84.99 instead of the $99 regular price. But it says this product is on back order. Is there anyone out there that order from the buy.com too and have received their keyboard?????????

I too ordered from buy.com because of the price difference. I ordered the evening of the 22nd, so obviously no chance of receiving it yet, but I'll let you know if I get it any time soon.

Let me know if you hear or see any signs of shipping. (The order page said they would e-mail me when shipped.)

Anyone out there with good buy.com/Stowaway news?

I received a note from Targus on Friday 4/21 that my Stowaway had shipped. Should show up sometime this week (UPS ground).

Hey there,

Just want to give you a heads up on buying from a third party vendor.

Often times when a new product is released, online stores like egghead and buy.com will sell the product on backorder even when they have no idea when the product will come in. The wait can be rediculous for high demand new products.

My experience with this was with egghead.com and the then new Matrox g400 Max graphics card. One of the best prices (~$60 less than full retail) I saw was at Egghead so placed an order. Three months went by and it never ever came in stock. It didn't show up in buy.com or any other online retailers warehouses either in that time. I was checking regularly. While I waited, people who ordered direct from matrox got their products in a couple days. Customer Service couldn't give me a date because they didn't know themselves. I didn't wait around anymore to find out when it would arrive. I cancelled the order and got it from Matrox direct in days.

I'm not saying this is a problem with the stowaway, but I just want to warn you ahead of time. So you have to weigh whether or not saving the 10 bucks and a bit on shipping is worth waiting an unspecified period of time to get the product you want. Buy.com will have it in stock, but when is the question.

Of course, some third-party vendors are already shipping, i.e. Palmgear. Here's hoping Buy.com isn't too far behind.

Thanks for the update. Too bad it looks like we will have to remain patient for a few weeks. Bummer.

Curious wording, "next shipment." Surely they didn't have a previous one.

Oh well, sometimes saving money means being patient. (And it seems that even those willing to shell out top dollar are in for a wait as well...no regrets here.)

Got my e-mail today announcing that mine has shipped!

Bad news for me is I couldn't wait and broke down and bought one at full price. Oh well, I'm sure I can sell this one at full price and essentially pay the cheaper price. (That's at least how I justified buying at the full price )
