Unhappy

I'm not sure that the "Who are you going to vote for?" poll hasn't become a stacked deck. This morning it roughly reflected most of the countries news polls with Bush a few points ahead of Gore. However, as of this afternoon, your poll shows Gore skyrocketing ahead. I think that someone with a little too much spare time must have voted one, to one-hundred times too often.

Just my thoughts or observations.

Angry

I totally agree with you! I'm sorry, but 70 people would not vote in an hour! Whomever stuffed the ballot, shame on you! James, you might want to restart the poll if you're looking for accurate results.
Just HMO.

Thumbs down

I don't know why people feel the need to stuff Internet polls. They're not scientific and are just for fun.

I'm sure some Bush supporter will even things out eventually.

with the problems in the US of people not showing up to vote, i don't think i should select the 'I'm not voting' selection on the list (seeing that i CAN"T vote while living in this country) as it would skew that view on the poll.

Perhaps you could add another selection? 'Unable to vote'

James, lets not encourage anyone that might be lurking in the Bush's to do the same thing. I feel like I've already been Gore'd, and would hate to have it happen again!

Go, Big W!

Well hopefully it's been fixed so it only allows one IP address. If anyone finds that they can still vote more than once let us know.

James,
I tried to vote again (after reading what you wrote) and it seems you fixed it good. I'm at home so I guess that I could vote again from work tomorrow, but that's kinda stupid AND pointless. I like the poll though, because I won't have to see another one like it for at least three and a half years!
Remember on November 7th, vote early and vote often, it's your duty as a patricidical American to uphold our fine tradition of creating a fair, honest, and balanced set of rules to live by so that creative people with too much time on their hands can figure out how to get around them!
Have a good weekend and come buy a car from me!

Looks like Nader is going to get that 5% of the votes he wants (according to our accurate VC poll).

Looks like the VC poll has leveled out quite nicely. Since Bush has recovered from the early ballot stuffing for Gore, it means that he is actually ahead in the VC poll!

Go, Big W!

Obviously the VC poll didn't factor in Florida. Now we still have to wait until tomorrow.

Yes, the Visor poll accurately reflected how many poor benighted fools there are out there who voted for that sorry excuse for a candidat....### NO CONNECT.....

What A Race!!! I watched the results until 3am CT this morning, and I can say that I've never seen anything like this Presidential race. Wow! I'm excited! Whoa, where's my nitro?

Note to Floridians: Count well! Use your Visors to tally the votes.

Proud to be from Mighty MO. The only state in the Union to elect a dead man.

Go, Big W! (and Jeb!)

hmmm....maybe they shouldn't (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=7383)

go into your calc app.... enter 1.8 and subtract 0.1 continue doing this until the answer SHOULD equal 0.

i hope they count the votes more accurately than that!!

Well seeing how you can't have fractional votes it shouldn't be a problem.

how about those kids down in palm beach voting for the wrong candidate -- or in some cases, two candidates -- due to the confusing ballot layout... sounds like half a vote (or 1.5) to me...

Actually, people that are that careless/easily confused sounds like the best reason to keep the electoral college to me. I saw the ballot and have a hard time understanding what all the confusion/controversy is about. All parties involved saw the ballot beforehand, and no one objected. Sounds like a load of sour grapes.

I agree Toby. The ballot, while perhaps they could have had some more space between the selections, was very clear about which candidate was being selected (notice the arrows pointing to the correct punch-out.)

The ballot was approved by BOTH parties, and the county election board has been using this ballot format for years. There is no reason to call for a recount because of the ballot.

Lightbulb

I was surprised that different states/counties use different formats for ballots. We used a hole punch to select candidates, while I've heard that others used pencils, etc.

I predict that after the fallout from this that we're going to have McDonalds-style buttons to press that have pictures of the candidates.

"I'll have an incumbant please."

"Would you like a new stadium with that?"
