Red face

I saw in the review: "Matthew Price's Screen Protector" that there is a new WriteRight:

"WriteRights (there are now clear WriteRights available) that had a rough surface to graffiti recognition and reduce glare"

Has anyone seen this? The only packages I saw at the store (OfficeMax and amazon.com) had the same part number (98024) as my current WriteRights (all rough). Did they just change the product or is so new that not many stores carry it?

I think he was referring to the ones made for the IIIc and the Prism. They dont have the Matte texture on them and are IMHO a million times better!

If I'm not mistaken these are made specifically for the color models and are totally useless on mono machines. Something to do with circle? I'm not sure and I could have this tatally backwards. If someone knows please inform.

Try either http://www.conceptkitchen.com, very slow site for me. Or try http://www.fellowes.com/ or more specifically http://www.fellowes.com/new/pda/98024.htm. Fellowes bought out Concept Kitchen a year or so ago. However Fellowes web site does not list the IIIc/Prism version.

Based off of an Amazon search:Ahh, now that I know the product number, I found them on Fellowes site in the Products catalog at http://www.fellowes.com/Product/mai...A25D&page=3.

The clear ones work just fine on mono machines. They don't cut glare like the textured ones, but they protect the screen and don't interfere with clarity. Since I've tried them, I have no plans to go back to the textured version.

The Fellows screen protectors are not endorsed by Palm.

Palm has only endorsed one screen protector. I will quote a Palm, Inc. Legal Representative.

April 5, 2001

"The Palm Solutions Guide to third party products does advertise a screen protector made by
Companionlink Software specifically, but this is the only screen protector that Palm, Inc. has endorsed."

Considering that 3COM no longer owns Palm, and hasn't for about a year, that would make perfect sense.

How about One that Improves the Prism Outdoors!

I know there are some chemists out there who are wanting to make a few hundred k! If you can come up with an overlay that you can put across the Visor Prism to improve it's visibility in direct sunlight, you'll be able to make a small(or even perhaps LARGE) fortune! I'd be willing to pay $30-40 for a cover that will allow this.

I went to the Birmingham Zoo today with my wife and Daughter. Took some pictures on my Eyemodule2 camera. I could not see what I was taking a picture of unless I nearly covered the entire screen with my hand and even then I was "Guessing" (BTW- the pics turned out GREAT!)

There has got to be some combination of chemicals that can increase the photosensitivity of the Prisms (Color Prism Radiosity-pun intended) that amplifies the brightness and reduces the amount of incoming light.

A cover overlay (similar to the WrightRight) that can do this will SELL BIGTIME!

So, use this idea, patent it I don't care. But be sure to make it to market before there is no need for it!

Jon

Actually, I PREFER the non-textured writeright for my Vdx. AND, I only cover the graffiti area. Been doing this for more than a year and the screen is as clean as the day it came. (okay, maybe not THAT clean) but you cannot tell I play chess a coupla' times each day on that image area. So the screen looks just as crisp as the day I got the Vdx in the mail. VERY nice.

Sam,

Inventorboy is just a bully who owes his existence to threatening others with his screen protector patent. What you personally do to protect your screen (I use the vinyl, too) is none of his business. He's just trying to make himself feel impotent... er, I mean important.
