Maybe a new poll can be started:

Do you like the snap-on cover or not?

I for one am a big fan - for it seems to provide great protection and with practice can quickly be taken on and off. Granted, it takes two hands and may therefore be a turn-off to some people. I never really liked the flip top on the Palms, and to me this new cover is an improvement for a stock feature. Any other opinions?

I like it too. It's almost bulletproof! (Well not quite.) Great protection considering how light weight and thin it is.

I don't see what the big fuss is about the cover. I personally did NOT like the Palm III covers where it would flip back and just seem to get in the way. Clip the cover onto the back and you forget about it. Plus it does seem durable.

And anyone complaining about not being able to get the cover off.. they must be completely moronic. Took me 2 seconds to figure it out. I showed it to a friend and he got it on and off without any problems at all.

If my old Palm Pilot Pro would have had a hard cover like the Visors do it wouldn't have ended up with a busted screen, so yes, I like it.

I like the cover also. The only problem I see is if I get a Springboard that sticks out of the Visor case at all, in which case I won't be able to clip the cover onto the Visor's back. Having to keep track of the cover in that instance might become a hassle. I think the slipcase is starting to grow on me too.

Add me to the list of cover-likers. It works well and is pretty quick to remove and re-attach in the back.

One of the strangest complaints I've read is that you can't operate the cover without using both hands. This is very true, but, and I might be odd here, but I can't use the visor without using both hands, anyway! One hand to hold the visor and one to operate it.

Ditto on all the above. I wouldn't change a thing. In fact, I think the (blue) Visor looks more stylish with it on. I also like the fact that the bottom flap covers the port.

I just noticed too that you can remove/insert the Springboard cover anytime the Visor cover is on - excellent!

why handsprung? got a graphite visor and want the clear cover??
maybe you can trade yours with one of the clear visor covers....

Any way I did not receive my cover yet (nor did I receive my visor...) so I can't really judge the cover.

However, what I will probably will dislike about the cover is that it's not connected to the visor itself and therefore is easy to lose it...

Personally I would like a cover in the style of the royal davinci....

But then again, I haven't realy used it so I should not judge the book by its cover...

Well Toolkit..

The cover comes off but it is just as easy to put it on the back.. so instead of being on the front, it's on the back covering everything. Keeps it out of the way entirely (I hate the palm flip cover) and keeps it from getting lost.

I like the cover a tad, especially the way it fits into the slots at the bottom from both the front and rear positions.

What I really like, though, is that they integrated the connecting cover pieces into their cases. I just checked the website, and instead of velcro or other stuff, the cases ALL have the same bottom and top connecting mechanisms as the cover, so the Visor will "click" into the cover. Excellent.

Also, the other nicety for the clip-on cover is the pegs that keep the unit flat if a) you have it on the front of the unit and put it face down on a flat surface (table, what-not), and b) if you have it on the back of the unit and put it down. Either way, it allows the cover to be wavy (not flat) and still have a "compatible" surface for a table or desk or whatever. Shows they really were thinking. That's what I loved about the original Pilot and the follow-ups. Thought designed into every facet of the product.

Overall I like the cover. Only two smallis complaints:

I'm somewhat fearful that it may be hard to use with some springboards. Hopefully the springboard makers will keep this in mind and design 'em so the cover still snaps on.

I have the ice visor, and I can read the time if I use BigClock (you can get at the side of the power button without popping off the cover), but the plastic is too "blurry" to allow one to read anything with a normal font, like the 45 million reminder and meeting alarms that I find so useful in my normal day.

I think a good after market addition would be a clearer-then ice, but still sturdy cover. (which I assume many non-ice owners would want, and I know *I* want!)
