Question

Do we have any reports about the cases apart from the default pouch? I, for one, would love to hear a review of some of the different customised options available on the site.

The colours are...something else. There was a blue suede'ish looking one which I doubt anyone but the King would be seen dead with. I must say, though, the blue alligator/croc skin case looks pretty swish. I just wouldn't have the guts to walk the streets with it in my hand.

Appreciate any thoughts, especially first hand testimony!

Merry,
I have sent two requests to Customer Support about the status on my orders for cases. NO RESPONSE yet. I ordered online and have checked based upon my confirmation numbers and I'm getting a 4 to 6 week estimated ship date. This is interesting since the web says have your case in 7 days from date of processing and I ordered on 10/6.

I'll post additional information when my cases get here. I ordered both a custom case and a bi-fold case. I'm pleased with the web sites photos/graphics and the cases should be better than anything I've ever used with my Palm but I would have thought to have them by now due to the web post.

Still waiting for case but extra happy with the Visor Graphite I've got.

Merry, Moose, etc.:

I was pretty excited when I saw the Handspring site was revamped to show the cases and the other stuff, and since I have every intention of buying a better case then the case packaged with the Deluxe, I checked out the cases.

What I really like is the fact that they seem to have the components from the plastic screen cover in the cases, so you won't need velcro or plastic or anything else to keep the Visor in the case.

However, 4-6 weeks for a case? I'll wait and see what is offered by E&B and the other companies. BTW, considering that PDA Panache is going to be selling a Visor stylus, I would also avoid buying a five-pack of those stylli from Handspring until PDA Panache comes out with their offerings as well.

4-6 weeks is way beyond reasonable for a case, especially one that will cost anywhere between $50 and $75. Considering how poor their customer service has been, I'm extremely suspicious about giving them a credit card and trusting them to get it right the first time.

I was talking to Handspring about the shipping thing. The guy said they say that all the time just to be sure. 4-6 weeks is a long time though

I had originally ordered a Black Aniline deluxe case, with my initials and everything...The total came to 75 bucks with tax... But since seeing that Rhinoskin has started selling the 3000 series for the Visor I have ordered that and won't cancel my Visor case order till I get my Visor (I just know it would confuse their mysterious database if I did it earlier )

I hope they let you cancel the case order, Zen. If the case has already been made, it won't exactly have a lot of resale value, except to someone with the same initials as you!

Anyone see the belt clip/hard case that is on the site. It looks interesting, since the back is completely free for handspring modules. It fully protects the screen and the clip is good for belt, airline seatbacks or other convenient holder upper type objects. It looks like you can slide it on over the back when you are using it. For $20 it looks like it may be useful if your not looking for a lager organizer. ANybody order one?
