With all of the recent cancellations of modules, I wonder if anyone out there -i know there were some beta testers- has any scoop on the infomitt pager module, the 123global.com website is "closed for maintenance"....that kinda worries me...last ime I talked to them they were saying all they needed was clearance from skytel and they thought that might happen feb 1.

well, here is an answer to my own query:

We are still waiting for the final release to ship of the InfoMitt from SkyTel, the InfoMitt's exclusive service provider. The InfoMitt was designed based on their paging protocol of POCSAG frequency 931.4375. As SkyTel was recently acquired by MCI/Worldcom our product, being tested and approved by them, has had some red-tape delays. Our website was taken down for renovation and also because we did not want to take any further orders until this product was on the shelf ready to ship.
We are so very sorry that we have not been able to ship the product to you but until SkyTel gives the product their blessing we must wait.
We will continue to hold your order in the queue unless we hear otherwise from you.

Thank you for your patience.

Unhappy Infomitt Pager ????

I've received the same response. The thing that makes me wonder is they only give anykind of response only when they receive an email. And the site has been "down for maint." for several days now. Personally it seems like this may be a small time operation that is having problems. Again this is only my opinion but I would guess that a reputable business would want to keep everyone updated. Either through newsgroups or at least on their own web site. If it's a waiting game say so. Once a week if necessary, at least that shows interest in the consumer. Something else to think about, is what about the other products? While the web site is down sales are being lost. How many companies would like that to happen??

actually they sent me an e-mail yesterday (not in reply to me):

here it is:

"We are still waiting for the release from SkyTel before we can start shipping. SkyTel, as you know, is the exclusive service provider for the InfoMitt. The InfoMitt was designed over 2 years ago to run on their system. As SkyTel merged with MCI/Worldcom all products required the blessing from the new management. We follow-up with them weekly and hope to get the release in the very near future.

We will keep your order in the queue unless we hear from you otherwise. We will also email you when we get the release from SkyTel and start shipping.

Until then, thank you for your order and your patience.

NOTE: Also, our email addresses have changed. You can reach us at [email protected] or directly to me [email protected]
